Two of the biggest story lines from the opening day of the PRI Trade Show are around drivers signing up for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for 2022. Thursday afternoon the news broke that Josh Richards, an already 4-time WoO Series champion would return in 2022 in search of his fifth series title. Recently Richards parted ways with the Clint Bowyer Racing team and partnered with Boom Briggs for 2022. They made if official today that they will both tackle the Outlaw schedule next year.
In other series news St. Charles, MO driver Gordy Gundaker announced he will made a bid for the 2022 World of Outlaws rookie of the year honors. The Midwest regional driver has flirted in national events over his career but never made the step to a full time national tour. That will change in 2022. Gordy has shown flashes of brilliance during his career with big wins on the DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour over the past few seasons. Next year he will join Illinois driver Kyle Hammer in the chase of Outlaw rookie of the year honors.
