(Eldora Speedway) – The 51st World 100 at Eldora Speedway will be without 2016 winner Bobby Pierce. After an altercation between a crew member and a track worker from the Eldora Speedway, Bobby has been disqualified from tonight’s event. Pierce was slated to start fifth in heat race three tonight. He will now have to set his sights on Friday and Saturday night for the 50th edition of the biggest race in dirt late model racing.
A statement from Bobby Pierce on his Facebook page informed his Pierce Posse fans that he would not be racing. According to that post a crew member violated Eldora’s four wheeler and other ground rules late last night after Bobby and rest of the crew was asleep. Bobby apologized for the incident and took responsibility for his crews actions. Bobby was not able to be reached for an official comment and on social media he stated no public statement would be made.
