Coming off the National DIRTcar title Brian Shirley made the trek out to the Wild West Shootout in Arizona. In the Bob Cullen owned 3S, Brian went to use some races to get his car ready to follow the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour in 2020. But once he arrived in the desert he came out of the box with guns blazing.
Brian came out on night one and picked up the opening night win at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway. Celebrating in Hoker Trucking victory lane, Brian fired those six shooters and rode on the bull with his cowboy hat. But he was just getting started, Brian would go on to win three of the six events in the desert. He picked up three $5,000 paydays and a $10,000 Keyser Manufacturing bonus for taking the three wins.
This gave Shirley a lot of confidence to start his 2020 race season. As we later found out this was just a start to one of the most successful seasons for the driver out of Chatham, IL. Shirley’s hot start was considered one of the top moments of the early 2020 season.
